NZALT conference 2024 - Key information
The 50th anniversary NZALT 2024 conference will take place in Auckland between 6th-9th July. The ultra early bird rate of $100 for NZALT members (covering admission to all conference sessions, lunch and morning and afternoon tea during the conference) opens on 6th November 2023. It is very worthwhile registering early.
Our conference will run alongside the FIPLV (international federation of language teachers) World Congress so it will be an exciting opportunity to meet and share with language teachers from around the world as well as to celebrate 50 years of NZALT. There are some excellent local and international keynote speakers lined up. Submissions for presentations and workshops are now open. For more information visit: NZALT2024 | NZALT Biennial Conference | FIPLV World Congress or email nzalt2024@auckland.ac.nz
As part of the 50th Anniversary celebrations we would like to present some people with Life membership and Excellence in Teaching and Excellence in Leadership awards. Please think about potential people in your region who you might like to nominate. For more information contact Juliet Kennedy or visit the NZALT website. Nominations for these awards are due on 30 April 2024.
Upcoming Cluster Dates
NZALT clusters are regional networks of support for language teachers where you can meet with other language teachers in your area to share experience, ideas, resources, and moderation. Afternoon tea is provided, and petrol costs are able to be covered if you need to travel further afield to attend the cluster.
If you would like to facilitate a cluster group in your area, please contact Juliet Kennedy to find out more. For further information on existing NZALT clusters, please visit our website.

2024 is our 50th anniversary year! Obviously the 2024 Conference will be our major event for the year. However, we also plan to:

- build our resources available for teachers
- run awards for teachers to visit other teachers and to assist teachers to undertake postgraduate study

- support and promote learning languages in as many ways as possible
