Frequently Asked Questions

  • How do I become a member of NZALT
  • NZALT membership is open to anyone who has an interest in second language learning and teaching, regardless of whether they are currently in a teaching position. We have different subscription rates to suit a variety of backgrounds and situations.

You can read more detail about membership of NZALT by going to the membership page of this website.

  • How do I check whether I have paid my subs?
  • NZALT maintains its database online, with access from the NZALT website. You are able to log in to view your own details, including subs payments. Detailed instructions are on the membership page.
To log in to the database you will need your membership number and your password, which was sent to you when your details were first added to the database.

To view subs payments information, click on the Payment History tab.

  • I can't remember my password. What do i do?
  • When your membership details were first entered into the database you were issued with a membership number/name and a password. The password was initially set to your first name, as registered with us, including a capital first letter (i.e. case-sensitive). Unless you have changed the password yourself, it will still be the original one.

Please try to log in to the NZALT database. Passwords can be reset by clicking the 'Forgot Password' link.

  • How do I change my email address/school/other details on the NZALT website?
  • The advantage of NZALT's online database is that you can keep your details up to date yourself through the log-in process. You can change all personal details such as phone number, address, email address and school name.

However you cannot change membership type. If you have a change of membership type, such as from full-time to part-time, you will need to contact the webmaster.
(Membership can now be upgraded on new site without webmaster!)

Once you have logged in to the NZALT database click on 'Edit' to edit information.
